The grand prize was a free ticket to attend a public speaking intensive for women leaders hosted by Alexia Vernon in Las Vegas. And I won!
And thus began my love affair with Alexia (Lex) Vernon, who is a big-hearted, brilliant, ambitious woman on a mission to help women step into their moxie and share their voices powerfully from any stage.
Lex has built a successful speaking and training career, as well as being an author with a new book coming out later this year, by really using courageous storytelling to make a difference in her community and beyond.
I LOVED chatting with her on today’s show and I know you’ll get a ton out of it as well.
- What is MOXIE and how you can have more of it
- Moving from total humiliation to powerful public speaking
- Managing your fear so it doesn’t stop you from speaking effectively
- Women’s leadership and becoming the breadwinner
- Postpartum depression and how she moved through it
As a speaking coach, she leads the Spotlight Speakers Collective, numerous virtual speaking training programs, and she consults with companies looking to develop a strong female leadership pipeline.
Alexia has inspired many audiences: Fortune 500 companies like Zappos and MGM Resorts, associations like INBOUND and the National Association of REALTORS®, and she had the honor of addressing the UN during the Commission on the Status of Women. Her book Step into Your Moxie will be published by New World Library (Fall 2018).
Alexia is facilitating a FREE, LIVE virtual workshop on January 11, 2018 – from 10:00-11:30am PST. You can sign up HERE
In this virtual workshop you will:
- Demystify the 4 ingredients of a transformational speaker’s “secret sauce” and unearth yours
- Illuminate the idea(s) you want to be known for so you can develop soul-stirring presentations that move audiences to action
- Slay self-doubt that keeps you playing small as a speaker, coach, entrepreneur and/or agent of change
- Clarify WHY you are speaking—and, based on your speaking and business goals, illuminate how to find the audiences that need you and your message
- Learn how to articulate your “secret sauce” so that event organizers, meeting planners and corporate leaders are eager to book you to speak
(I’m an affiliate of Lex’s The Spotlight Speaker Accelerator program, meaning I will receive a commission if you choose to enroll in her group coaching program. I only recommend people and programs that I believe wholeheartedly in, and Lex tops that list.)
Also, you can find her on all social media platforms @AlexiaVernon and join her engaging and helpful private Facebook group facebook.com/groups/spotlightspeakerssalon/
